The debate about $20 vs. $40K a year may be moot. It's hard to see how even an income level of $40K would suffice to pay for health care. Major medical coverage alone could cost $500 a month. Take that out of $2500 a month to live on, pay average rent for a 2BR apartment of $1300, and now what do you give up? Eating? Ordinary potatoes were a buck a pound at Stater Bros. yesterday.
