Many people look forward to retirement and often decide to move to another city or state. One of the things that is frequently not considered in a move is what kind of medical care is available in the new place?
Now that I have had experience with four family members who moved to other cities and states and died after receiving incredibly bad medical care, I always caution people to make this a serious consideration. You may be taking your life in your hands if you move to places like Las Vegas, Nevada or Santa Fe, New Mexico. Even those individuals who have lived in these towns for a long time, as well as the nurses, social workers, and members of the hospital staffs, say what bad medical care they have. Hopefully, if you chose these locations you will have someone who can be a strong advocate for you and can be by your side at all times.
If you decide to leave the United States, your two best choices for very good medical care would be France and Australia. They are considered to have the best medical care in the world. How sad that the U.S. is far down the list, even though we have some excellent doctors who work very hard to provide the best medical care possible.
